La Rebière d'Or, guest rooms and its orangery Gîte
Looking for tranquility and comfort during your stay in Périgord?
A few minutes from Bergerac, in the purple Périgord, on the edge of the Pécharmant vineyards, the Rebière d'Or welcomes you in a magnificent mansion fully restored, overlooking the Dordogne, whose origins date back to the 17th century yesteryear.
Relax around the swimming pool from where you can contemplate the calm waters of the Dordogne, not overlooked.
The vast park is planted with rare three-hundred-year-old trees, ginkgo, tulip tree, sophora, is enclosed by a wall dominating the river and the towpath; the bamboo plantation will surprise you with its size and exoticism. You can rest around palm trees and take advantage of the gazebo to relax.
From your sumptuous room you will admire the reflections of the Dordogne as well as the port of Mouleydier, a village with a historic past with its caves, and its prehistoric port unique in the world!
Here is an extract from the Shore Guideswho selected La Rebière d'Or as one of the best bed and breakfasts in the Dordogne-Périgord region:
" On the opposite side, an elegant corner house with a well-kept garden. On the pile side, a superb 17th century mansion in golden stone overlooking the Dordogne, which stretches along a huge park. The place is exceptional in every way. There is the arboretum and its fabulous sophora, a three-hundred-year-old Virginia tulip tree, lime trees and giant oaks, a bamboo grove near the pool treated as a jet pool, the long wall to accompany the river to an old bridge.
Everything, including the view, is enchanting. Inside, Madame and Monsieur Fournel have gathered their amazing collections to create a baroque and colorful ensemble, as comfortable as it is delightful. Antique furniture, paintings and objects from all sources and from all eras follow one another from room to room, up to the two magnificent bedrooms whose high windows plunge towards the river.
If it is not prepared outside, breakfast (cakes, madeleines or homemade cakes, delicious jams) is served in a small lounge. On the walls, a rare set of Venetian mirrors, on the ceiling a large old Murano chandelier, above the piano a naturalized parrot. No, you're not dreaming ! You are in one of the most beautiful and welcoming guesthouses in Dordogne. "
